Enjoy The Journey

Enjoy The Journey

During one prayer, I received a vision of people rafting. At first, I thought that this is my own imagination, because some time ago during holiday, I joined rafting with the ministry staffs. Holy Spirit rebuked me quickly, however, saying: "Pay attention to what I want to show you." When I paid attention, God showed me people rafting, and how the current is carrying their boat through many large rocks. Even though the river becomes turbulent, foamy and wavy because of the rocks, but the river's flow keep on carrying the boat forward. One time, the boat got stuck between two stones' crevice, and those within the boat are instructed to move back and forth to get the boat back on track.

God gave me the following understanding from the vision:

1. Make sure that the flow of our living water keeps on increasing from day to day.

If the water volume diminishes, we will automatically see large rocks, and of course we could never glide with our boat on the river. The same goes for our life. If our life's water volume is 'currently diminishing', we will straight away find 'large rocks' blocking our life journey. We could not accelerate because we have to walk and 'carry our boat'. However, when the living water's volume in us keeps on increasing, all 'stumbling rocks' in our life will automatically 'sink' and we no longer need to walk carrying our boat; God will carry us to 'glide quickly' on our life's boat - carried by the heavy current of the living water.

Keep using the power of declaration and prophecy. Use our mouth to speak what God has decreed and what we believe. Keep speaking to such an extent it creates a surge of enthusiasm and flow of joy in our heart. The climaxing enthusiasm (surge of positive emotion) in our heart indicates the rising volume of our heart?s water of life.

2. The presence of large rocks will in turn create rapids, surges, and dynamics in the river. Such is the pleasant sensation of rafting.

God reprimanded me once: "Even though you are carrying a great responsibility in life, it doesn't mean you could not enjoy your life. Enjoy the journey, don't become 'too serious' until you lose your joy, or the sensation you supposedly enjoy while walking with Me."

In undergoing day-to-day life, we supposedly could set our minds to such an extent that we could enjoy life just like we enjoy rafting. Indeed, there will be many life challenges, struggle, and battles to be faced. However, when our volume of living water keeps on rising, it's impossible for all struggle, challenges and battles to stay as a hindrance. All of them will be 'drowned' by the living water flowing from our life. True, we still have to face them, but instead they will create 'rapids' which will generate various sensations and enjoyment, adding amusement to our day-to-day walk.

3. In wading through the river, each boat will be accompanied by a professional instructor whose task is to guard and direct the boat to keep moving forward and not to overturn.

Before starting to raft, we were all briefed by an instructor about what we should do as 'amateur rafters', while the rest will be handled by the professional instructor.

I observed how along the river, the instructor rowed, directed the boat, moved from left to right to keep the boat's balance while going through the rapids. Meanwhile, we as 'amateur rafters' are busy paddling and screaming, assuming that the boat is moving fast because of our effort - without knowing that at times what we do is actually endangering everybody on board. Regardless, the professional instructor keeps on working hard to guard and stabilise the boat.

Holy Spirit is the professional instructor sent by the Father to guide us in rafting through this river called life. Although we have to go through many rapids - which if we do ourselves will be dangerous - Holy Spirit's work in directing and balancing our life boat will ensure that we will never overturn; instead we will go faster, creating life sensations and enthusiasm which will make us keep shouting with joy.

In one moment during rafting, I was thrown out from the boat. I was underwater for a few second. However, because I have followed the briefing before rafting, I know what to do to get back into the boat. Together with my colleagues' cooperation, I quickly regained my position. By following the leader's instruction and merging ourself within a community carrying the same spirit, although at times we are 'thrown out' from our 'boat of destiny', we could quickly regain healing, renewal and new breakthroughs so we could function optimally for His kingdom.

Make sure that we live our day-to-day life with an increasing volume of living water - until it becomes a river that cannot be forded. #iLoveGod (Ps. Steven Agustinus)
