SEEING AND HEARING GOD
SEEING AND HEARING GOD
Proverbs 20:12 (NKJV) The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.
Specifically, I want to review about the spiritual ears and eyes because they are often used to interact with the reality of God.
Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV) “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
Matthew 5: 8 (TB) Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall SEE GOD.
1. In lives of believers, God has given them the ability to hear and see - interact with Himself
The problem that happens many time is that our hearts are being filled by many kinds of negative emotions and our minds are in anxiety due to a lot of disturbances in our minds, so we lose our spiritual sensitivity to the divine things, even to the existence of God!
Luke 24: 13-18 (NASB) And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them. But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad. One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, “Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?”
Both of disciples were unable to see, recognize the existence of Jesus who had risen because there was 'something' that blocked their eyes! Frequently the anxiety in the mind and the turmoil of negative emotion that are experienced by the believers have been successfully exploited by the enemy to make us 'cut off' from the spiritual world; we become a believer who is so humanity and are easily dragged into worldly. We become like a blind who needs a guidance, so we receive anything or anyone who we feel can guide us to achieve our purpose!
Therefore, it takes determination and discipline to constantly reading the word and pray - especially praying in tongues. By reading the Word, we are setting our minds to only focused only on His Word - not distracted by any kinds of daily events that will lead to make our minds become anxious. While we are praying in tongues - expressively, passionately, we are cleansing our emotions from any kinds of negative emotions.
By ensuring the condition of our hearts and minds focused only on God and His words, our spiritual eyes and ears will normally function again! #ILoveGod
