Heart Attitude
This is the continuation of yesterday's message.
6. Degradation level 6: They will feel discontentment towards the sin they do, and start to plan for more sinful deeds (Rm 1:27-28)
The pleasure of sin is deadly, yet it will make those in its snare to desire more destructive sins, without themselves knowing that their life is being massively corrupted by its 'deceit of pleasure'. For example, if someone 'slips in spiritual carelessness' and starts to watch pornographic movies, slowly but surely, they will stop enjoying the content they watch. They will start to crave for increasingly vulgar content. From what they watch, they will have the desire to try mimicking it. At first, maybe they tried to do it to their spouse, but after a period of time, they will start to have the desire to do it to others who are not their rightful spouse before God. Such is the way the pleasure of sin will destroy the lives of those in it's snare.
7. Degradation level 7: Sin habit starts to root and change the person's nature, from a righteous person manifesting righteousness into someone manifesting the sin's nature (Rm 1:29-31)
Someone who starts to enjoy sin is someone who manifests the nature of that particular sin through their daily lives. They have given their lives to be used by worldly spirits to manifest themselves through the person's daily life. Now their life has become a 'gate of hell' widely open for the worldly spirits to manifest themselves and to propagate the same nature to many other people. This type of people who are already under the full control of worldly spirits will be very dangerous if they are in a leadership position, because communities and people under their 'tutelage' will be influenced and imparted by the type of nature the person carries. Bad company will corrupt good morals (1 Cor 15:33).
8. Degradation level 8: They will become an inspiration and support for those who start to live in sin (Rm 1:32)
Why believers who start to deny their conscience's voice could continue walking in disobedience?
Other than the person's heart tendency to enjoy the pleasure of sin, the person also gains bravery to continue their impure and foolish heart desires because they 'see' others who indeed are brave (ignoring God and His laws) to keep chasing the pleasure of sin.
When they start to connect themselves to those people who have lived in the grasp of the worldly spirits, they receive 'impartation and acceleration' - racing together towards doing viler sins. Such is the way sin keeps on increasing in this world.
Such is the principle of spiritual degradation for those who refuse to listen to their conscience's voice. Truly, however, if we want to reverse the process, we will also find how truth could be multiplied in this world.
It starts by us who are determined to make decisions based on our pure conscience. Our heart's determination to live by our pure conscience will lead us to be a group of people who keeps on chasing after God's truth and reality.
When someone has a heart attitude which always focuses on God's kingdom and agenda, their life will automatically start to manifest the truth they pursue. Holy Spirit and His word's influence will increase in our daily living; the activities of worldly spirits will fade and stay away.
In turn, truth, peace and joy by the Holy Spirit will manifest stronger and stronger in their day-to-day life. All manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit will shape a new nature in the believer's life (Gal 5:22-23).
Automatically, this will also influence many people who interact with the believer during their daily living.
From God's side alone, when He found a believer who start to have the qualification and reputation as a righteous man, He will position them to be promoted - as people who are influential, renowned, full of authority and power. From that God-given position, their life will start to function as a pattern, inspiration and God's media of impartation to multiply and impart truth into the lives of as many people under them.
I pray so that the Holy Spirit keeps on guiding our footsteps in following His Spirit's guidance through our conscience. Let Him build our life to be what He desires; as a Sign and Address for this nation. #iLoveGod (Ps. Steven Agustinus)
