OUR GOD IS UNLIMITED

The word “unlimited God” kept on speaking in my heart. It makes me more and more confident that I’m connected to the unlimited God. Therefore, my hope must only be on Him, not money which is finite, and not man which is limited – but only upon Him who is unlimited.

God is able to preserve our lives, both through natural and supernatural means. But that’s not the main aspect; the core principle is to listen to God’s voice and obey.

God commanded Elijah to ‘go to the brook Cherith’ when drought was sweeping throughout Israel, and Elijah simply obeyed. There, God preserved Elijah using the river as the ‘natural MEAN’. God also used the crows to deliver food. Then, God also commanded Elijah to go to the widow of Zarephath. There, God also preserved Elijah through another ‘natural mean’ – the widow of Zarephath herself. However, God also provided for Elijah without any natural mean.

1 Kings 19:5-8 (NASB) He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, “Arise, eat.” Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. The angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you.” So he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.

The angels sent the ‘bread cake’ and ‘water jar’ in a divine manner. Nobody sent it; no crows involved and no river was there. Suddenly, it existed in the middle of the desert. And even more miraculously, the food and drink could give Elijah strength for 40 days.

I learned something: our God ‘could not be dictated’ by the formulas we know. Because in principle, God is not limited by all that. He could move through any means; both natural and supernatural. So, our focus must only be on His voice. If He commands us to prepare a natural ‘mean’, then do it as best as we could. If He does not, He is still God who will always find a way. And that’s what happened to Elijah; as long as he listens well to God’s voice and walk according to the heavenly agenda, God has the responsibility to take care of his life.

Forget Elijah; even the hard-headed and rebellious Israel was sustained by God every day for 40 years (Manna from heaven). Moreover us who wants to obey and walk according to His Kingdom’s agenda! It’s impossible for God to leave us!

Suddenly, the following verse crossed my mind:

Jeremiah 17:5 (NASB) Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man. And makes flesh his strength,

Whose heart departs from the Lord.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (TLB) But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence. He is like a tree planted along a riverbank, with its roots reaching deep into the water—a tree not bothered by the heat nor worried by long months of drought. Its leaves stay green, and it goes right on producing all its luscious fruit.

I believe that the scripture is God’s voice for me. That is the heart attitude which will connect me to the unlimited God. Man is limited, and everything natural (including money) is finite. So, I must make sure that my heart doesn’t depart from the Lord, and I must keep hoping and depending on Him alone.

Truly, to surrender to the Lord is not a ‘passive condition’, but is an active state of pursuing and pushing into the reality of His presence until He speaks, and making sure that we become doers of what He speaks! That is the life that I must keep living. For I believe in my God who is unlimited! #ILoveGod
