PRAYER'S

PRAYER'S

James 5:16b-18 (NKJV)  The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Prayer is believers' breath of life; in other words, prayer could not be separated from the normal life of believers. As believers, it is just normal for us to live in the spirit of prayer. The problem is, sometimes we pray with inaccurate intention/motives, objectives, and beliefs.
Many believers only pray when they are under pressure, or are currently being suffocated by life problems. Many also pray, or even cry out to God only when panic and fear strikes.

1. Pray with faith
When we pray, we are in fact returning the authority and power over this world (especially our world) back to God. Since the days of creation when He revealed His plan to make man, He already planned for man to rule over this world and the creations within (Gen 1:26-28). Even after the fall, He never revoked the authority over this world from man.
That's why when someone prays, they are actually doing a prophetic action to 'return' the authority over 'the world they ruled' back to God's hands. Praying is the act of pulling down God's sovereignty over the world we rule. Therefore, in the prayers we lift, learn to declare what we believe God will do to us with His sovereign power. Not to dictate God about what He 'should' do, but more to convince ourselves in giving God the 'freedom to move' in demonstrating His power.

2. Pray with an accurate perspective and knowing of God
Prayers are not mere empty words. Every word of prayer we lift should be established upon a measure of healthy and accurate knowing God. Paul himself lifted a prayer for the Ephesians - a congregation God used to shake Asia - to experience the work of the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that they could know God accurately (Eph 1:15-17). Through believers' knowing of God, their prayer will activate many heavenly creatures to act. The activation of heavenly portal and creatures through prayers established on knowing of God will distinguish between those merely praying by words and those who actually know God.

3. Pray based on covenant
In truth, our life as believers is the manifestation of God's continuous work in the life of our God-given leaders. What God has ever done in the life of our leaders or spiritual fathers is the starting point of what God will do in our life as their spiritual children.
The same goes with covenant. God has surely given many promises to a spiritual father. Some have been fulfilled, but some others will never be fulfilled until there are spiritual children who rise to realise it. This is the pattern, simply because God gives His promises to a spiritual father according to the state of their spiritual children.
So, when the spiritual children have not positioned themselves accurately, building a healthy relationship, surely the promise wouldn't come to pass yet. However, when spiritual children rise to build a healthy relationship with their spiritual father - when emotional affinity starts to build - usually that's when the spiritual father will start to tell what God has promised about their spiritual children. That's the time when the spiritual children could lift their prayers according to the covenant between God and their spiritual father.
I believe God's sovereignty will apply, so that the greatest spiritual dimension He has revealed to the spiritual father, He will reveal as well to their spiritual children. That's the moment when apostolic succession occurs.

4. We may lift our prayer based on the breakthroughs or victories experienced by our brothers and sisters in covenant.
As brothers and sisters living from the same spiritual dimension, spiritual food, and going towards the same destiny and Kingdom agenda, it is only fair for us to be called as one Body of Christ. As His body, one breakthrough of our brothers is a 'license' or a milestone we could ask for God to do in our lives as well. Not because we feel envious or jealous over our brothers; but because we are facing the same situations and challenges, so that we could hope for the same breakthroughs and victories.
By living in covenant with our brothers and sisters, we receive the right to enjoy the same work of the Spirit they experience.

Read, imagine and prophesy the following verse to our lives: Jam 5:16-17, Eph 1:15-23, Deut 8:5-18  #iLoveGod (Ps. Steven Agustinus)
