Harvest Season

Harvest Season

Overcoming the Devil's seed which unfortunately has been 'sown' and 'entered' our lives is not as easy as it looks (Mat 13:24-30). A cooperation between the person and the Holy Spirit is required; the self-awareness that the urge to react, the various thoughts crossing the mind, and the upheaval of negative emotions are forms of manifestation of the tares sown by the enemy in their lives. Without being completely addressed, the Devil's seeds will be able to shape/mould a person's nature and character.

1. The tares were sown when everyone was asleep (Mat 13:25).
It is undeniable that the enemy oftentimes skilfully exploit the moments when we are careless and unguarded. It could be during conversations with friends or someone we meet, through the articles we read when waiting for something, or some words we unintentionally read, or things we watch, or the rumours at social media, etc. There are many situations, events and opportunities that the enemy uses to sow the tares.
Of course, the seeds wont show itself or grow right away as long as we keep living in the fullness of the Spirit. Usually, that seed will keep waiting for our moment of carelessness, when flesh starts to show in our lives (Gal 5:19-21), which is when that seed of tares will try to corrupt/kill the godly nature that God is nurturing in our daily lives (2 Pet 1:3-4).

2. The seed of tares and wheat will grow together, and the tares could only be dealt with when the harvest season comes (Mat 13:26-30)
Sometimes we could feel the heart of Holy Spirit being upset or sad due to witnessing us carrying two types of life - very fiery in our love for God at one time, while at other times it seems that the enemy could easily trip us into sin over a very trivial temptation. It seems that it doesn't matter how far we have practised the lesson of 'Building the Spirit Man', the enemy could trip us over and over again. It is almost as if we have no free will to refuse the Devil's temptation.
These are all caused by the presence of 'tares' in our life; when the 'harvest season' comes, the enemy feels that it has the right to 'reap what it has sown' into our life.

a. The coming of 'harvest season' is actually the moment we could overcome the enemy who has sown the tares.
The owner of the field told his servants: allow both to grow together until the harvest; and then we will take action then (Mat 13:30).
The harvest season above is the moment when the 'tare seeds' exploits the various negative events we experience in life to manifest itself all the more, conditioning the person to enter into downfall.
For example: Without knowing, the "seed of adultery" were sown into our life. The seed will never grow as long as our life is surrounded by God's presence, and our family life is just fine. Usually, the seed of adultery will start to 'receive the needed elements to grow' when we start to harbour disappointment towards our spouse, or when the healthy communication line with our spouse is severed. Moreover, if our surrounding have many 'temptations' from the opposite sex, it will worsen the 'condition of war' we have to face. There will be many dirty thoughts, unclean ideas and imaginations which start to massively flooding our mind. They are ripening our 'power of will' to take over our 'sound reasoning' and 'biblical considerations' which so far has held us back from stupidity: falling ourselves into the wallows of sin.

b. Beware of all kinds of thoughts and negative emotions crossing our mind.
When the tare seeds are 'ripening and ready for harvest', we will find how our mind will keep being bombarded with many thoughts, imaginations, desire and urge that conditions us to ?do/manifest that will of the flesh' which rises, trying to take us over.
What we should do at that moment is to quickly declare the word and to break the power of the will of flesh that is trying to manifest itself. Keep declaring the word while speaking in tongues fervently, until we once again feel stillness and peace; together with the Holy Spirit, we regained control over our lives. That is the moment when we know that the battle has been won; we have successfully taken out and destroyed the seed of adultery from our life.

Keep doing this consistently while building the divine pattern and the dimension of accuracy in every area of our life. I believe that God will keep helping us to climb an even greater level of glory in following Him. #iLoveGod (Ps. Steven Agustinus)
